 Our client, an innovative, global manufacturer of a large and diverse product line used worldwide in the automobile industry is expanding its operations and has asked Sterling St. James, LLC to help the source, screen and qualify candidates to fill this important position.
They are the most diversified automotive supplier in the world. They design, develop and manufacture automotive systems, assemblies, modules and components, and engineer and assemble complete vehicles, primarily for sale to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of cars and light trucks in three geographic segments - North America, Europe, and Rest of World (primarily Asia, South America and Africa).
Because of the increased demand and a new product line they will retool the production lines. This individual will be responsible for the new product and the successful development of the production line.
Their capabilities include the design, engineering, testing and manufacture of automotive interior systems; seating systems; closure systems; metal body & chassis systems; mirror systems; exterior systems; roof systems; electronic systems; powertrain systems as well as complete vehicle engineering and assembly.
They have 275 manufacturing operations and 85 product development, engineering and sales centers in 26 countries on five continents.
In Kansas City, because of the increased demand and promotions within the Engineering team they need 3 process engineers. This individual will be responsible for the new product and the successful development of the production line.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to::
      Responsible to drive and understand customer specifications, both corporate and plant, and applies company standards for use in all aspects of mechanical designs.
      Responsible to support personnel in root cause analysis and problem resolution of production throughput, quality and cost challenges.
       Responsible to estimate content and labor costs for proposals and engineering change quotes.
       Responsible to assign, follow-up and approve vendor work requirements throughout design phase.
       Responsible to follow-up and ensure vendor progress that meets or exceeds project timing.
       Responsible for analyzing scope of work during pre-award phase and to assist in development of manpower plan requirements to complete project within time in the project timeline.
       Responsible to give updates to project team.
       Responsible to work with customer to finalize design requirements, reviews and approvals throughout design phase.
       Responsible for Installation Risk Assessment, Safety & CE Risk Assessment and MFMEA.        Works with the Ergonomic Committee to complete ERA’s on equipment.
      Works with the Engineer Manager to ensure cross functional communication is taking place when there’s a “process change” that affects engineering and/or other departments.
      Works with the Engineer Manager to execute projects
      Works with the Engineer Manager to track and report project status, CPMP.
      Works with the Engineer Manager to create project timelines for design tasks from critical project milestones provided by Engineer Manager.
      Responsible in leading Cross-functional teams to complete PFMEA’s, Process Flows, Standardized Work documentation.
      Responsible for program management documentation - CPMP open issue updates and scheduling/leading.
      Works with Engineer Manager on build, integration and commissioning plan.

  • Bachelor of Science, BS in Mechanical, ME or Industrial, IE Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • 3 + years’ experience
